As the pandemic progresses, most Americans want to get vaccinated as soon as possible in order to stay safe from COVID-19. However, with new vaccines continuing to appear, one, in particular, is being questioned by U.S. Officials.
Even though it hasn’t been approved yet in the United States, the AstraZeneca vaccine is very controversial. It was announced on March 22 that the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID vaccine was 100 percent effective in the clinical trials. Just like the other vaccines, AstraZeneca has been proven very efficient against hospitalizations and severe COVID-19 cases.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is one of the four vaccines that have been approved for use in the EU and has been administered across the United Kingdom and other countries across the European Union as well. Additionally, 70 countries have received conditional or emergency use approval for Oxford’s vaccine.
The AstraZeneca vaccine was approved by The World Health Organization in February, and now the United States should decide on an application for emergency use. However, it’s important to mention that several European countries, including France and Germany, have suspended the administration of the vaccine after a lot of concerns regarding blot clots were related to several deaths.
