Soap dispensers or pumps
Wait, what? Actually, soap dispenser pumps are a haven for bacteria. Researchers from the University of Arizona found refillable soap dispensers especially germ-laden. And that’s because when you’re pressing the pump, any bacteria living on your hands that you’re hoping to wash off has an equal opportunity to get transferred onto the dispenser. Lead researcher Charles Gerba, PhD, explains that touching a soap container can actually transfer more bacteria to your hands than if you would have touched a toilet with your hands.
