At a press conference on Friday, Governor Asa Hutchinson confirmed a one-day estimate of 731 new cases of coronavirus in the state of Arkansas — the highest single-day rise since the start of the pandemic. This figure was even more shocking because it represented such a steep incline: the next highest number recorded before that was 455 new cases per day.
