Are you ready for another few weeks inside the house? With all the new variants of the COVID-19 virus, it is likely that the Omicron one will not be the last one that sends the entire world into a frenzy, so, to be pessimistic, there might be another lockdown knocking on our doors. And, truthfully, after the reaction every state had to the Delta variant, we did not think we would see another one hit so fast. Judging by everything, there are predictions made by officials and virologists that we may reach the peak of this variant sometime by the end of February.
Yet, until then are we really heading towards another lockdown? Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House medical adviser on the coronavirus, has said that it is highly unlikely we will see a lockdown of the same proportion as the one we had back in March 2020, at the start of the pandemic.
Even so, despite everyone’s hard work, the number of cases has been rising all around the country and more and more states have been implementing new restrictions or going back and reversing decisions that lessened the restrictions in order to fight the new variant. With the ones that have been tightening their restrictions, it is good to keep an eye on them and see if they are going towards such a harsh decision as a state mandated lockdown.
