Even if at the beginning of their romance, Einstein was extremely enchanted with Elsa, after they got married, the love transformed into detachment. Einstein never had children with Elsa, but he did treat her daughters like his own.

The way I understand Rudy’s and Regina family relationship is not second cousins but first cousins once removed. If Regina had a child, that child and Rudy would be second cousins. Help me understand the connection if I am incorrect.
