Yes, he was a great mind, and you know what else? The husband of his cousin. He married Emma Wedgwood and they had 10 children together! The newly wed couple brought lots of joy to their families, despite the bride and groom’s close relation. Actually, marriages between cousins was very common in those times, and the Darwin and Wedgwood families had been particularly into this practice.
Fun fact: Their grandparents were also cousins. (They really cared about their traditions, didn’t they?!).
The way I understand Rudy’s and Regina family relationship is not second cousins but first cousins once removed. If Regina had a child, that child and Rudy would be second cousins. Help me understand the connection if I am incorrect.
