20 Famous Works of Art and Their Hidden Mind-blowing Secrets

20. ”View of Scheveningen Sands”

The ”View of Scheveningen Sands” painting is exposed in the Fitzwilliam Museum In Cambridge in England but an interesting fact about it is that even if you visited the museum years ago, between 1873 and 2014, you wouldn’t have seen the giant whale that is now onshore.

The explication for this is the fact that the whale wasn’t in the painting in the first place. There were people on the beach who stared at nothing. It took people about 140 years to notice that the crowd is looking at something that wasn’t there. So, when someone restored the painting in 1941, he discovered that hiding underneath the color of the sea was a whale. He really solved the mystery.
