20 Famous Works of Art and Their Hidden Mind-blowing Secrets

5. ”The Creation of Adam”

As you may already know, Michelangelo painted nine biblical panels, and the most famous of them all is the ”The Creation of Adam” painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Even though this painting is very well known by many, few people know that the scene he recreated contains a hidden human brain.

As it turns out, Michelangelo was very passionate about human anatomy. This passion began in his teenage years when he started working at the church graveyard. He was only 17 years old then and his job was to dissect corpses.

Researchers recognized the vertebral artery which is illustrated by the angel right beneath God and his green scarf. They also recognized the pituitary gland and the red blanket surrounding God creates an illusion that resembles the human brain.

People had many opinions about why he chose to create such an illusion. Some say that the brain represents God and his power of dividing divine knowledge, while others see these hidden signs as a rebellion and a form of expression against the church because in that period of time science was completely rejected by them.
