Paul McCartney is dead

This is definitely one of the most bizarre pop-culture conspiracy theories which says that Paul McCartney, the Beatles legend, is in fact dead. The theory sustain that McCartney died in 1966, at a time when the Fab Four reached the height of the band’s fame and success. It is believed that the other members kept McCartney’s death a secret and brought someone else who looked and sounded exactly like him, as a replacer.

Many fans believe this theory and even point out several clues present all over the band’s songs. For instance, Beatlemaniacs mentioned that the Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album is proof of Paul’s death, followed by the lyrics from A Day in the Life, where the line “He blew his mind out in a car” is supposed to indicate the way he died.

Additionally, the song’s recorded phrase “Paul is dead, miss him, miss him,” can only be heard when the song is played backward, which sparked even more controversy among fans. At the end of “Strawberry Fields Forever”, a very silent “I buried Paul,” came from John Lennon’s mouth.

However, the band denied any hidden meaning to the song, adding that John Lennon was actually saying “cranberry sauce.”

As Time Magazine pointed out, another clue that couldn’t pass unobserved among fans was the original cover of 1966’s Yesterday and Today album, where the Fab Four posed near chopped up body parts and raw meat, which conspiracy theorists associated again with Paul’s tragic ‘accident’.

The Time Magazine also added that “by placing a mirror in front of the Sgt Pepper album cover, the words Lonely Hearts on the drum logo could be read as “1 ONE 1 X HE DIE 1 ONE 1”.

Lastly, but not least, there’s the Abbey Road album cover presenting a funeral, where John Lennon is dressed in white, Ringo wears black to symbolize a mourner, followed by George in jeans, dressed as a grave digger, and of course, McCartney not wearing shoes. Some people believe it was another indication of Paul’s death.
