The Holocaust did not happen

Probably one of the strangest conspiracy theories out there denies the existence of the Holocaust, which we know killed more than six million Jews during the Second World War, and there’s also enough evidence, including photos, films and other human remains.

But all this information didn’t stop people from denying its existence. Many people believe the Holocaust was a hoax, while there are also those that believe everything was exaggerated, in order to draw attention to the Jews.

And even though it’s widely known that the systematic extermination was orchestrated by Nazis, the deniers believe the figures were greatly exaggerated. It’s important to mention the 2000 trial (also presented in the Denial movie), in which author Deborah Lipstadt was sued by historian David Irving because she described him as a denier.

The judge decided that David Irving was indeed a denier of the Holocaust, anti-Semitic, racist, and a promoter of neo-Nazism, which lead to a three-year sentence in Vienna. Austria and Vienna also chose to deny the criminal offense brought by Holocaust.

But even so, some people still continued to believe the Holocaust did not happen, a theory that spread worldwide.
