Marilyn Monroe
You would think Marilyn Monroe was the original blonde bombshell, but in her early years, the actress endured a rough childhood, going through several foster homes. Monroe’s mother, Gladys Baker, suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and, according to Biography.com, dropped her off with her first foster family, the Boldenders, when she was just two weeks old.
While her mother popped in and out of Monroe’s life for years, there was little continuity and she bounced constantly around to family friends’ homes before she was able to strike out with a modeling career on her own before settling into acting.
