Roller coasters were invented to distract Americans from sin
Roller coasters were invented in the 1880s by hosiery businessman LaMarcus Thompson, who hater the fact that Americans were tempted by hedonistic places like saloons and brothels, so he thought of creating a roller-coaster to help people stay away from the most immoral places. He came up with America’s first roller coaster in Coney Island in New York, to give New Yorkers some good and clean fun times.
