After four years of sobriety, Kelly Osbourne shared in April 2021 that she relapsed. She told the world that she’s sober now, and she’ll continue to be, but it’s the type of ‘one day at a time’ journey.
Kelly Osbourne attended rehab three times in her first 24 years of life, as she was addicted to painkillers. The first time she attended rehab was back in 2004, at the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, California, after it was publicly revealed that she was addicted to prescription drugs.
One year later, she attended rehab again, but she wasn’t able to stay clean much longer. She was back in rehab again in 2009, as she relapsed after moving to Los Angeles. She told People in a 2009 interview that all she did was take painkillers, smoke pot and sleep through the day.
She shared that she tried to hurt herself several times, just to gain access to painkillers. Kelly Osbourne finally celebrated one year of sobriety in August 2018, after a very dark period when she almost gave up on herself.
However, after 4 years of sobriety, Kelly Osbourne confirmed that she relapsed again in April 2021. Even though she wasn’t proud about it, she had the courage to share her experience with the whole world, adding that she’s currently sober and focusing on that.
