8.Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Probably one of the long-lasting couples in Hollywood met as most actors do, on a TV set. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are married for 32 years, but he confessed he had a crush on her after seeing her on TV when she starred in “The Brady Bunch” in 1972.
The two met in the early 80s while filming an episode for the ABC sitcom Bosom Buddies. Soon after, they worked together in the film Volunteers, but Hanks was married at that time to Samantha Lewes. However, he always said that he felt an immediate spark, and Rita felt the same, the kind of feelings you can’t deny.
But even though they liked each other instantly, everything was way too complicated. His marriage was broken, he had a two-year-old son and he was just 23 years old at that time, too young for marriage. He finally got divorced in 1986, when his son was 7 and his daughter was 3.
Tom and Rita got married in 1988, but he knew he had to change something so this marriage won’t have the same end as his previous one. When he was asked about the secret to their long-lasting romance, Hanks answered that a relationship doesn’t have to be hard all the time. If love is real, you shouldn’t have to work so hard for it.
