#Do: You can still order take out from your favorite restaurant.
Who says you can’t keep eating your favorite food? At the moment, take-out and delivery are considered the safest ways to enjoy a delicious meal during a pandemic, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease expert at Vanderbilt University, besides not coming into contact with many people, ordering take out is also safe because the virus is not spreading through food.
“It’s so unlikely that there isn’t a single scientist, I think, anywhere in the world that’s investigating potential foodborne transmission of COVID-19,” Schaffner added.
#Do: Have a picnic outside, but don’t forget to keep your distance!
It’s totally understandable that you would want to see your friends before a potential lockdown and hang out with them, but you can do it without jeopardizing your safety. Therefore, an outdoor picnic might be a very good idea.
According to Levine, an outdoor picnic is a low-to-medium risk activity, but you need to make sure you don’t forget about the six feet apart distance, mask-wearing, not sharing food, and keeping the group a small as possible. Moreover, as data from a Lancet Infectious Diseases study has shown, sharing food is one of the easiest ways to spread coronavirus from one individual to another.
