The Johnson & Johnson vaccine proved to be less efficient against the new strains (the U.K. strain and the South African one).
In its statement, the company also mentioned that their vaccines are 72 percent effective in the United States, and only 57 percent effective in South Africa, where the new variant was discovered recently. The only problem here is that the new South African strain has already made its way to the United States, so it could impact how effective the vaccine is stateside.
