Whitney Houston was abused
While it’s true that Whitney Houston’s personal life was very discussed in the media, and the press spoke a lot about her problematic marriage and drug use, certain parts remained hidden until after her death.
Keeping secrets is not easy, especially for such a huge star as Houston was, but she managed to do ti successfully, and only the close people in her life knew about them. According to Vanity Fair, one of Houston’s darkest secrets has surfaced after her death, when Kevin Macdonald set out to make his documentary about her life.
Whitney’s brother, Gary, accuses their cousin, Dee Dee Warwick of abusing him and his sister too. Her assistant and good friend, Mary Jones, knew about this because Whitney mentioned it a few years prior to her death.
“Houston looked at me and said, ‘Mary, I was molested at a young age too. But it wasn’t by a man — it was a woman,'” Jones said. “She had tears in her eyes. She says, ‘Mommy don’t know the things we went through.'”
Even though she never spoke publicly about being abused, she mentioned in an interview that hearing about abuse makes her so angry, especially child abuse. She couldn’t understand why someone would do that to those tiny, helpless creatures.
