10 Songs Banned For Utterly Stupid Reasons

The Who -“My Generation”

When the famous Who track was released in 1965, the BBC refused to play it. Why? Well, apparently, they weren’t too happy about the iconic repeated stuttering that plays a huge part in rock and roll’s history.

Apparently, Roger Daltrey upset a lot of people with his way-too-honest stutters, even though it was never his intention. Even though we don’t know exactly how the stutter came about, it could be because Daltry had difficulty learning the lyrics, or because Pete Townshend was a huge fan of John Lee Hooker, a jazz player also known to be a stutter.

But no matter the reason, the intention was never to offend people, even though the BBC felt otherwise, due to political correctness reasons.
