The G7 Summit Coat
The G7 summit meeting coat that Melania wore definitely attracted all the attention on her. Not only is the coat an eye-catcher (especially on her figure), with quite a bold collection of colorful flowers, but so is the price tag that was attached to it. The Dolce&Gabbana jacket is priced at a whopping $51,500! It is by far the most expensive piece of clothing on our list, and probably from the ones she wore while she was the First Lady too.
What is even more impressive is that in order to be able to buy this coat, the buyer needs to make a deposit for half the price of the coat: $27,750! Have you ever envisioned yourself paying so much for one piece of clothing? Of course, she can afford it with no problem.
Trick or treat?
Also in 2018, the presidential couple welcomed a number of children to the White House who were there to trick or treat. Like the other presidential couples before them, the two did not wear costumes when they welcomed the children and gave them candy. Yet, Melania’s outfit as she welcomed the children from military families caught the attention of the media. The coat from Bottega Veneta costs about $3,950 and can no longer be found online. Yet, this yellow tartan coat (which was very festive) is one of the most expensive ones in which the ex-First Lady has been seen.
Official Move Day
When Melania and her son, Barron, arrived at the White House in 2017, her attire fascinated the people and the press. It is not the fact that it was something with bold colors, that could be seen from afar or that it offended the press. In fact, the clothes she put together were quite business casual, with neutral tones that worked amazingly with her figure. What attracted people’s attention was how expensive the outfit was, for something so simple: Melania wore a pair of Bally trousers and Manolo Blahnik heels, which together make up the sum of almost $1,200.
Surely, you must be thinking we went mad for saying that is a lot of money compared with the other pieces on this list. Yet, it was not the clothes themselves that attracted the eyes of people with a sense of fashion and for luxury goods: it was the Hermes Birkin bag she was carrying. Specialists appraised the bad at $13,000 and while it may seem like a lot for you and me, these bags can go for way more than this “measly” sum.
