1. The Child Eater, Bern, Switzerland
Well, this statue is kinda creepy and unnecessary horrible. This is a 16th-century piece named “Kindlifresserbrunnen” (“Child Eater Fountain”), located in Bern, Switzerland.
Also, this statue is exactly as advertised, it appears to be stuffing babies and children into its mouth, keeping the rest of them for the road.
It is said that this is an old carnival statue meant to scare the children, but the most bizarre thing about this sculpture is that no one knows who made it, or why.
