5. Lobster Mickey, Massachusetts, US
This statue was created by artist Breanna Rowlette as a part of a Disney-sponsored project. 75 Mickey Mouse statues, 700 pounds each were created by various artists to reflect the different regions of the U.S. (cleverly titled “75 InspEARations”).
She was born in Boston, and since apparently no one associated that city with anything but lobsters, the artist decided to create lobster claws on a Mickey Mouse and call it a day.
The six-foot anthropomorphized crustacean/rodent hybrid is placed in Boston, obviously, in the Faneuil Hall marketplace, confusing the hell out of everyone who crosses its path.
