6. The Mustangs of Las Colinas, Texas, USA
This is one of the largest groups of sculptured horses in the world, and it commemorates the wild mustangs that were historically important inhabitants of Texas. These statues are much bigger than the real horses, even though in photographs they appear smaller.
They have some kind of special fountains built in the horse’s feet, which shoot out water and created the illusion of them galloping through a river. These statues were commissioned in 1976 and installed in 1984.
Some say that the horses represent the drive, initiative and unfettered lifestyle that were a necessity to the state in its pioneer days.
