11. ”Bacchus”
”Bacchus” is another very well-known work of art painted by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio’s in 1595. Bacchus, known under the name of Dionysus, is the Greek god that symbolizes wine.
An interesting thing about this painting is that you can spot the author’s reflection in the bottle of wine that is present somewhere near Bacchus. This Caravaggio’s portrait was only discovered in 1922, around 300 years after it was finished.
