5. Sammie Dean

Jerome is a former copper-mining town in central Arizona that used to be the home to more than 15,000 residents. Nowadays, no more than 400 people live in that area, as the town has its reputation for paranormal activity.

People believe there are more ghosts than humans in Jerome, of those who lost their lives in gunfights and mining accidents. The most famous spirit that lingers in the town is known as Sammie Dean, a prostitute that was killed by a customer. It is said that her spirit roams around the town, searching for the one that killed her.

6. Gettysburg Battlefield, Pennsylvania

Probably one of the bloodiest battles in United States history was the Battle of Gettysburg that took place in 1863 in Pennsylvania. More than 50,000 soldiers lost their lives in this battle, while many of them didn’t receive a proper burial. It is said that the tortured spirits of these men still wander in that area, searching for their comrades and weapons.
