Nomophobia
The next entry on our list is a distinctly modern phobia which has become more widespread throughout the 21st century. In 2019, global tech care company Asurion conducted research that found Americans now check their phones 96 times a day, that’s once every 10 minutes. They had done the same research just two years prior and their new findings discovered an alarming raise of 20% in phone dependency.
Those who suffer from nomophobia, also called cell phone addiction by the National Institute of Drug Abuse for Teens, will suffer severe anxiety or panic attacks if they cannot find or have lost their phones and with become obsessive about checking it constantly throughout the day.
