George Michael and his good deeds
I know we’ve mentioned certain not-so-great secrets famous people kept hidden during their lives, but it’s also worth mentioning the people that did good things but chose to keep them secret.
And George Michael was one of those people. Even though his relationship with the media was scandalous at times, his death revealed that he was very generous and charitable. According to the Associated Press, during his life, George Michael made multiple huge donations to charities, such as HIV-awareness groups, Childline, and Macmillan Cancer Support.
But even though he could have used these incredible, generous gestures to his advantage, he never made them public. In fact, he even made sure that no one except the receiving parties will know that he was involved.
According to Esther Rantzen, the founder of Childline, Michael gave millions of dollars to their organization over the years. He even donated all the money he made with one of his biggest hits, ‘Jesus to a Child.’
And he did the same thing with the HIV-awareness group, the Terrence Higgins Trust. He also gave away all the money from his Elton John duet, “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.”
