Similar to bus rides, public transportation is also very risky right now, especially for elderly people. Subways and city buses can make your local trip very dangerous, especially if there hasn’t been a local mask mandate instaurated in your area, or people are not following the regulations.

According to Anthony Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), “It depends on your individual circumstances. If you are someone who is in the highest risk category, as best as possible, don’t travel anywhere.”

“If you go someplace and you have a car, you’re in your car by yourself, avoid getting on a crowded subway, as well as getting on a crowded bus,” he added.
