10. Sammy Hagar and Adam Levine
Sammy Hagar known for the legendary rock band Van Halen and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 joined forces and launched their own brand of mezquila. What is mezquila, some might ask.
Mezquila is a liquor combo between mezcal and tequila, meant to balance mezcal’s smoky flavor with tequila’s blue agave flavor. “When we came up with that name ā mezquila ā the whole road opened up,” Hagar said. “We know what weāre going to do. It’s the first mezquila. We’ve invented a new product.”
“It comes on like tequila and you smell a little bit of smoke in it, but is toned down to where you get a sweet finish,” Hagar said. “Itās taking tequila to another level. When you blend the two you get a higher spirit, a brand new taste. ”
First of its kind, a 750ml Mezquila bottle of Santo retails for around $50. “After three or four shots [of Santo], you feel like you smoked a cigar,” Hagar told USA Today in 2017.
