Mask Mandates Will Soon Be Relaxed, According to Fauci

Fully vaccinated individuals can safely gather indoors, according to the CDC.

As previously mentioned, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) changed its guidelines on mask mandates about two weeks ago, at the end of April. And even though fully vaccinated people still need to follow all the safety measures, including wearing a mask and social distancing, in public places, they are now allowed to gather with other fully vaccinated individuals without having to wear a mask.

The new guidelines also allow fully vaccinated people to gather with unvaccinated individuals from one other household without having to social distance or wear a surgical face mask.

The only situation in which they are required to wear a mask, it is someone in that household poses an increased risk for becoming severely ill due to COVID-19. But when it comes to public places, it’s impossible to know if there’s someone at high risk for severe COVID-19 infection.

That’s why the CDC requires everyone, including fully vaccinated people, to wear a proper face mask, one that fits tightly around the sides, to cover cough and sneezes, in public environments. Also, social distancing, frequent hand washing, and other health measures are also encouraged.
