The most important thing right now is to get as many people vaccinated as possible.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), our initial goal was to vaccinate 70 percent of the population of the United States or even more to achieve herd immunity, while we’re currently at more than 40 percent of vaccinated over 18 individuals in our country.
But even though these numbers look very promising, Fauci explained that it’s not the time to be more liberal until we get as many people vaccinated as possible. With more and more people getting vaccinates each day, the number of daily infections will certainly go down, Fauci added.
At the moment, there are about 43,000 new cases per day in the United States, but Fauci believes we must get it much lower than that. When the number of daily infections gets lower, the risk of infection both indoor and outdoor also decreases significantly.
