Sandro Botticelli’s artwork was finished in 1486 and has become one of the most popular paintings from the Renaissance period. It became famous for it’s a symbol of feminism, grace, and beauty.
However, there’s much more to see about this painting than you would think. The author was really brave for painting a nude portrait at that period of time, that’s the reason for it to be hidden from the public eye for 50 years.
The most important hidden symbol is in the shell. Researchers sustain that the shell embodies the female genital parts. So, the scene reflects Venus’s oceanic origins and refers to human birth.
