20 Famous Works of Art and Their Hidden Mind-blowing Secrets

1. ”The Last Supper”

If you’ve ever read Dan Brown’s ”The Da Vinci Code”, you’re probably no stranger to hearing that this 15th-century painting by Leonardo da Vinci has been accused of lots of supposition. Some critics imply that the disciple that stands in the right near Jesus is actually Mary Magdalene pretending to be John the Apostle.
Some also suggest that there is a “V” shape that forms between Jesus and “John”, representing the image of a female womb, correlating that Jesus and Mary Magdalene had a child together.

All this being said, there were some art historians that didn’t believe all of this speculation. Some say that John’s appearance is more feminine than others simply because that’s how he was represented.

But they weren’t the only ones having a theory about this painting. The Italian musician Giovanni Maria Pala had his own theory far less heavy than the others. He discovered that it could an actual melody was written into the painting.

His theory is that if you draw the five lines of the staff across the painting, the apostles’ hands and the bread on the table are in the exact positions of music notes.  And if you read it from right to left, the exact same way da Vinci used to write, these music notes lead to a mini 40-second hymn.
