Unflushed toilet!
This is another one of those points that shouldn’t be made, but from what flight attendants say it happens more often than not. We know those airplane bathrooms are small, cramped and more often than not, full of buttons: there is no shame in asking the flight attendant about the right button if you cannot locate it.
Believe us, with generally only two small bathrooms on the plane, everyone can tell if you happen to not flush. And that is more embarrassing than asking for help.
Is the demonstration going on? Then do NOT go to the bathroom!
Speaking of bathrooms, there are certain moments you can’t go to use them. We all know about not getting up while the seatbelt sign is on, but not many know that you shouldn’t get up while the crew is holding a safety demonstration. It’s okay to go before takeoff, but after the aircraft starts moving you should stay seated until the sign goes off.
This comes from the fact that if you get up during the demonstration, the flight attendants have to stop, wait until you come back, and begin the demonstration from the beginning. It may be repetitive for those of us who are frequent flyers, but you never know what type of aircraft you are on and maybe the safety features are different.
Of course, if there is an emergency, call the flight attendants and they will help you. Otherwise, you should remain seated after the demonstration starts and until the sign is off.
