The Kingsmen – “Louie Louie”
According to Whatculture.com, “Let the following be a lesson to all of you future rockstars: If you’re going to sing your song so high-pitched and slurred that no one is able to accurately make out the lyrics, a government official is going to investigate every aspect of your career for years afterward.”
But even though it might not happen to everybody, this was the case with The Kingsmen, “Louie Louie” song. The song was investigated by the FBI during a long 31 months investigation, mainly because certain lyrics were believed to be offensive.
During the investigation, the song was banned on many radio stations, even though no one knew exactly why. When the investigation was done, and they couldn’t find anything wrong with the song, it was finally allowed back on radio stations.
