The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) also chose to start administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine again, after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to end the 12-day pause.
The LDH also announced on April 24 that all vaccine providers will resume administering the Jenssen vaccine as soon as possible, urging people to get vaccinated with whatever vaccine is available for them at that time.
According to Louisiana State Health Officer Joseph Kanter, MD, people need to understand that the pause was recommended out of an abundance of caution after the six rare blood clotting cases that have been reported in our country, however, the vaccine is safe and effective.
Katner also added that our safety is their top priority so he urges people not to worry.
