Maine CDC Director Nirav Shah, MD, and Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeanne Lambrew, PhD, have announced in a statement on April 24 that the state will start using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine again.
According to the statement, providers will implement the Johnson & Johnson vaccine administration immediately in the state. Also, people need to be informed and understand how powerful the vaccines can be against the COVID-19 infection, as data from the CDC and FDA have shown.
Additionally, the existence of a new vaccine is part of our state’s broader effort to vaccinate as many people as possible in a short period of time, as the statement wrote.
