Turophobia
Another food related phobia is turophobia, the irrational fear of creamy, delicious cheese. This is another rare condition but sufferers can be traumatized by everything associated with cheese, whether it’s the taste, its texture or gooey appearance or in some very rare cases they even fear the words cheese, cheesy, and similarly-sounded words and phrases.
The smell is often the triggering factor for people with this phobia, certainly in the case of cheeses like Camembert or especially Parmesan. Parmesan contains butyric acid, a short-chain fatty acid naturally occurring in plant and animal fats, but it’s also found in human vomit.
